Charley Shively Prize · 2025
The William A. Percy Foundation announced author and activist Perry Brass as recipient of its 2025 Charley Shively Prize for Gay Liberation.
Brass is a poet, playwright, editor, activist, and longtime voice in gay liberation whose work spans literature, theater, community health, and movement history. His career connects the pre-Stonewall period, the emergence of gay liberation in New York, the AIDS era, and continuing debates over sexual freedom and cultural visibility.
